How it all started
Our founders Willem van der Jagt and Gerrit Breebaart met while working as IT consultants at the same software company in the Netherlands. At that time, the Dutch software industry was dominated by big consultancy companies selling services to end-user organizations. Willem and Gerrit wanted to focus on building beautiful software, using the latest technology. Driven by this ambition, they decided to do it alone and set up Assai in 1990. In the early years, Assai developed several standard software products and the company grew steadily. In 1996, Assai started to develop a standard software system for document control.
Today
People from different types of background love working at Assai. We have fun activities together, like a summer barbecue next to the office, a family day and a winter dinner.
